Priscilla J.   |    Purple Water     |     JABB     |     Roccus

Our boats are perfectly matched to the waters around Nantucket.  Not only do they give our captains the ability to fish demanding waters, they also give anglers a safe and comfortable fishing experience. They are each uniquely designed for their specific purpose and offer superb comfort, safety, and fishability. They are perfectly suited for Nantucket waters.

They are all Coast Guard documented with top of the line electronics, safety equipment, and fishing gear. Only Priscilla J. and Purple Water have heads (toilets) so please plan accordingly if you are fishing on JABB or Roccus.

Both Priscilla J. and Purple Water are custom made, thirty foot Crosby Hawks. They are both unique and very impressive. The minute you step aboard, you will feel the security of an 8 ton boat and enjoy the space allowed by their 12 ft beam. Capt Tom had the Priscilla J. built in 1980. After fishing Nantucket's West end for 10 years, he knew exactly what was needed. Though many of the vessel's strengths are noticed mainly by the captain, anglers always enjoy the stability and open space these boats offer. Their stability combined with a shallow draft allows us to fish waters well out of reach of other boats.

Capt Tom acquired Purple Water in the mid 90s and spent an off-season working on the topside to fit the needs of our water and our anglers. We are very happy to have 2 of only 6 of these hulls ever built. Though they both have identical hulls, Purple Water has a slightly different layout that includes a partial roof and more sitting area. They are both great boats that can accommodate any group, but feel free to request one or the other if you have a preference.

Both boats can carry up to 6 anglers comfortably with up to 4 rods fishing at once. The wide beam and open deck area offer great fishing space. We use both fly and spinning gear on board and can easily use both at the same time if your group has mixed fishing preferences.

They offer great platforms for any groups the hard-core fishers, first timers, or families with small children. You have to step aboard to appreciate just how seaworthy these boats are.

JABB is a 23' center console Maritime Skiff. A larger version of Roccus, JABB is ideal for up to 4 anglers. The layout allows 4 rods to fish comfortably in most conditions. With a 225 hp Yamaha four stroke, its speed offers great range. Though much lighter than our big boats, she handles very well in tough conditions and offers a surprisingly smooth ride.

Roccus is an 18' Maritime Skiff equipped with everything an angler would need to fish the flats and other shallow water options. Capt Tom had the desk customized to accommodate our clients perfectly. The entire bow is raised for stability and flush for tangle free fly-lines. There is also an extra perch for increase visibility for those who wish to use it. The stern has comfortable seating for two anglers and a possibility for a third if necessary Ð though we strongly recommend limiting your group to two if you want to explore the flats.

From the elevated poling platform above the engine, the captain will maneuver Roccus throughout the flats and shorelines of the West End in search for the many stripers that crowd our waters.or a better idea of fishing the flats, please follow the link to our flats page.

Roccus has higher sides than traditional flats boats, and this feature is critical for her success in Nantucket. During our season, we often encounter inclement weather that forces us off of the flats. Unlike in many fishing locations, Nantucket offers great fishing in most conditions. With the versatility and range Roccus gives us, we can put our anglers on fish in various conditions.

Consistent with our cancellation policy, we will never force any fishing trip. Our goal is your enjoyment. We've been doing this long enough that we know when to go out and when to stay in. Beyond the obvious concern for safety, we will consider group dynamics and the conditions to decide when stay off the water.
